More Pics of Benton

Well, I planned on going to visit Jenny at the hospital at some point today, but wasn't sure if it would be at lunch or after work. I called her around lunch time and she was alone with Benton! I thought Perfect! I will go and visit and spend some time with the two of them and then get to love a little on my precious nephew! Jon arrived not long after I got there and I was able to get some sweet pics of him feeding Benton for the first time! How precious is that! Hopefully they will be going home tomorrow and I can get some more pics of him in his new surroundings!

Welcome to the world Benton Tarver Byrd!!

Wow! I have not kept this thing updated like I should! It has been a busy couple of weeks...between getting the August magazine out and celebrating our anniversary, the time has passed so quickly! I will definetly post a few pics from our anniversary trip to Perdido Key this past weekend, but the main reason for this post is to welcome my new nephew into the world! My middle sister Jenny gave birth this morning to a beautiful baby boy, Benton Tarver Byrd. He weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and was 21 in long! He had a head fully of hair and is adorable! I spend the day at the hospital and it was so awesome to have the entire family there! Jay and Melissa arrived just in time for the birth and Julie drove in from Starkville (missing a couple of classes on the first day at MSU) and arrived in record time (I will not post how long it took her, but let's just say I didn't know Starkville was that short a distant from Jackson!)! David (bless him on his day off for coming and spending the morning at the hospital!) was there and my parents were there pretty early after driving from Brookhaven! Jon's parents were also there to welcome their first grandchild! I love how close-knit our family is and getting to experience the joys in each other's lives together! I know Jenny and Jon will make great parents and Benton will take another piece of my heart just as Foster has!

What a great day it was! I don't have many pictures just yet as it was late this afternoon before they brought him to the room! I hope to have more tomorrow to share once I get to spend a little more time with him loving on him and being amazed at the awesomeness of God (and yes, to all you people that know I'm a magazine editor and such a grammar nut..I know awesomeness is not a word, but I don't know another word to describe it!)! Wow! The blessings God bestows are awesome! Even after seeing many close friends give birth and being there to experience Foster's birth, I'm still amazed at the miracle of life! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Closing in on a year!

What a weekend! It seems like the weekends have just flown by this summer! I have to actually get up and go to work in the morning!! To top it off, it's the beginning of the month which is magazine time for me! I do have something to look forward to! David and I are going to Perdido Beach next week to celebrate our 1st anniversary! I can't believe our anniversary is in 2 weeks!!! What a year it has been! I always heard that the first year would be hard. Praise Jesus that ours has been great! God has truly blessed me with a wonderful husband and I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. So, in honor of our upcoming anniversary, I am sharing some pictures from our wedding and rehearsal dinner!
